The A.V. Department - October 2023
October is Occupational Therapy month in Canada!
In honour of the profession that has given me so much, I'm going to dedicate this month's blog posts to topics which are related to occupational therapy.
First up, we have The A.V. Department selection for October from the folks at TED Talks. This particular talk is about how occupational therapists approach mental health. In practice, it might look a bit different from OT to OT (depending on the country you work in, the population you're working with, and the type of interventions and assessments you're providing), but my profession's way of understanding mental health holistically is a common thread across the profession as it's practiced throughout the world.
If you have any other questions about OT, feel free to reach out to me at Calder Mental Health Services.
If you're a young person who is thinking about becoming an occupational therapist and you'd like to talk to someone about the profession, feel free to send me a message. You can find my contact email through my website.
I'm also be happy to point folks toward resources about OT if you're interested! And if you live in Alberta, Canada, you're welcome to book a consultation appointment to see if I might be the right mental health therapist for you.
Enjoy!
Petrina
